Maria Callas is a grand inspiration for many singers. There are some artists that will continue to help us along in or development as singers long after they pass away. La Callas is one of them. When I started out as a singing student I not only listened to other singers. I read about them. I read biographies and watched documentaries. I wanted to know as much as possible about them. Their life and how they approached this grand and complicated art of classical singing. Classical musicians of other instruments where interesting too. And composers.
Many years ago I took a baroque class att The Royal Academy Of Music in Stockholm. The teacher, Clas Pehrsson, said something that totally resonated with me. “The audience wants to be there when you take the risk”. Meaning, don’t play it safe. Be bold while you improvise! Actually, singers and musicians of all genres helped me along. For instance Billie Holiday never approached a song the same way twice. Invent. Create while your on your way. Don’t be too sure where you’ll end up. Otherwise people can just as well listen to a record. Wise words!
The Renegade Blog Honored Me With An Interview
Many of these teachers have inspired me while I studied to become a certified trainer with The Daily Marketing Coach. Because of the certification Ann Sieg reached out to me and wanted to make an interview. I was honored! I did make some parallels to how I used my skills as a singer and voice teacher to become a certified Trainer. One importan influence came from Maria Callas. I used the same approach she did while becoming a singer. Now I implemented the same strategy to become a successful marketer. You can listen to the interview here.
